So you got a massage, and you’re feeling amazing! What are the things you can do to keep up that wonderful feeling and help the massage have the best effect possible?
This article answers that with the 5 best things to do after you get a massage.
I’ve been practicing massage for nearly 15 years and have seen thousands of clients in that time. A common (and great) question I often get is what can you do after the massage to best support your health and keep the relaxing effects of a massage going? The following are simple things you can do to get the most out of your massage appointment.

This may seem like it doesn’t matter much but it actually plays a HUGE role in your recovery. While we could get deep into different types of water (we’ll save that for another post). I’ll say this: try to find the best quality

I recently read in a magazine about a study done at Harvard that concluded a positive outlook has more to do with longevity than exercise! I was intrigued. I can skip running and just look on the bright side? It sounded like a win win.
Here’s what else was really interesting, that magazine also shared a study about how those who are more optimistic, tend to say and report that they have super supportive partners even when they actually don’t. While yes, their partners may be supportive, but the studies showed they were no more supportive that other people’s partners. (what!)
Here is why this intrigued me.
I like to think of myself as a positive person.
I actually do have an amazing and supportive partner! I know this. But also… do I? This study says maybe they are just human (*except that they are great).

look at that literal support right there. Proof is in the picture.

Summer. Each season has a unique way in which it supports us. The universe is always supporting us. Sending people, events, and seasons along our path to do this. You reading this, is a step towards telling the universe thanks, and you are here to receive.
Speaking of receiving, Welcome! This letter isn’t so much from me as it from the Season of Summer. One of things I teach in Reiki Level 2 is how to connect with (aka receive) different energies, whether it is the energy of a tree, the stars, a crystal or a season. (You can practice this now through channeling) They all have a unique energy that is available to learn from and experience. Thanks for being here, and welcome to Summer.
Imagine in nature: things may seem wild, as if plant grow too fast or in the wrong direction. Yet, aft

Or maybe you go monthly and love it! Either way, I felt inspired to share a little about what is reiki, why it is actually so fantastic… and just what happens inside a reiki session?
I am so glad you’re here to join me.

Reiki is special practice. The word Reiki is from Japan, Rei- meaning universal or life force, and ki- meaning energy.
Reiki itself is a channeled energy, of a pure and high vibration. I think of it as the vibration, or frequency, of love. Pure, unbiased, unconditional love. Love of the highest form.
Let’s back up a step though, to understand that if you look at our bodies beyond the cellular level: we are all vibrating at our own unique frequencies. We are made of energy. If you are feeling depressed: your energy may be vibrating quite low
Even if we live in the tropics, our nature is to cycle through different emotions, and periods of rest vs output. So where are we right now? How can we harness that innate desire in us to be cyclical?
By tapping into the nature and power of the season.Â
Known for renewal. Revival. To arise from the dark and start to look towards the light. Maybe literally as we get more vitamin D from the sun and leave our Seasonal affective disorder in the rearview mirror. But also figuratively:
In Winter, we learned how important rest is. Taking a break and quieting the mind, this is imperative to allow new ideas, new energy and new growth to happen.
Imagine if you worked out heavily and NEVER had a rest day. Would you continue to build strength? Or would you become fatigued and injured?
Or, if we we w

“Who you are at your core, is enough.”
This is the main message I get when tapping into the Spirit and Energy of Winter. As an Energy Practitioner, one of my favorite skills is the ability to connect. Connection can refer to many different things, but right now, I’m referring to connecting with different energies, including nature! Connecting with the seasons, the elements, forests, oceans, and so much more. To learn from them as well as to connect for healing.
When I tap in to Winter’s energy, it has an uplifting, gentle and kind energy. Even though I love winter now, I spent seven winters in a row actively avoiding it! I traveled to live in constant summer temperatures. Looking back… it's no wonder I ended up a little frazzled with my energy towards the end of my travels. Summer is a time of higher energy! Of going, of doing. It can be great, but thanks to the Universal Law of Rh

We love to see autumn in nature. The leaves fall. Things retreat. Plants go dormant and turn inwards. We LOVE it. We travel to see it, we take pictures and post them all over (like me, with the pic of Kimba above). The change of season is a beautiful thing. We know this.
But when changes happens to us, in the form of shedding old parts of ourselves, feeling burned out and having a desire to rest, or even death of a loved one: we may hate it. We might resist the change so much that it creates chaos, anxiety, and irritability in us. Then, when we feel those things, we get further uncomfortable! and so the cycle deepens.
Nature calls us to drop what we are doing, and evaluate where we are. Nature encourages us to grow, change, and shed layers. And when we don’t: nature speaks louder. Or worse… sinks away and leaves us feeling disconnected. Feeling not “whole
I’ve been working with energy for awhile now, but I’ve only taken it seriously since about 2018. Before that I used to feel strange letting people know I was into energy work. I’d get deep into the science to “prove” it was real to myself. When I started to feel energy from practicing massage, I didn’t understand it. I would just notice I’d feel bad after being around someone grumpy, but that was about it. Then I started to be able to accurately sense how people were feeling, which seemed magical if not strange to me.
Since then, I started learning more about energy, and practicing with it daily. Now I know how easily we can (and do) effect our own energy. AND how important it is to be aware so we don’t carry or get weighed down with the energy of others.
I’m mentioning this so the ability to protect your own energy doesn’t feel too far off. Know that a few years ago it was a con

But that’s the thing with our guides, they are there whether we know about them or not. They love us and hold space. They are there for us unconditionally.
Wolves in particular are here to show us our strength, to show us how to connect with our instincts and to guide us on how to heal...
My favorite Spirit Animal site says wolves are “a call to live your life more freely, to bring the intensity of passion in your everyday endeavors”
I don’t believe this is just for me, I feel guided (maybe by the spirit of the wolves?) to share this because as we finish up 2020 and head into next year… The INTENSITY of passion into your
